Sensat Limited

Sensat, a UK-based scale-up, utilises visual and spatial data to create 3D simulations that enhance the planning and execution of major infrastructure projects like HS2 and the National Grid. This project was one of my favourites, allowing me to leverage my design and development expertise while working closely with the founders to realise their vision for client needs.

Following Sensat’s Series A funding, I joined the team to refine their flagship software, Mapp. In collaboration with the founders and other key stakeholders, we crafted prototypes and MVPs specifically tailored to meet precise client requirements. My primary task involved a comprehensive overhaul of Mapp’s user interface. I developed a robust design system, detailed in a Figma-based app style guide, complete with a modular component system of design assets.

Additionally, I engineered a custom SCSS framework and component library following atomic and utility principles, essential for developing new, fully responsive Angular components. It was immensely satisfying to see my Figma designs come to life, as I developed these components in Angular and enhanced their functionality through the integration of micro-interaction transitions.

This complete overhaul not only improved user interactions but also significantly enhanced both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the Mapp software.
